I’ve worked in research for most of my working life and when I’m asked ‘why research?’ my stock answer is because I’m bloody nosey. I like to know the who, what, why and where? It’s that curiosity that leads to the kinds of insights that others don’t observe.
When I’m not working or travelling – I love a holiday, me! – I’ll probably be found at home; cooking, eating, entertaining or out with my mad Sproodle, Sprocket, on one of the fabulous country walks I’m lucky enough to have on my doorstep.
Favourite food: Curry, I can never get enough of it, breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Favourite drink: a perfect G&T
Favourite film/TV show: I’ve got loads of favourite films that I can watch over and over but if I’m forced to choose one it would probably be The Green Mile.
Favourite activity: It would have to be lying on a lounger by the pool or on the beach, pretending to read my Kindle while surreptitiously watching people from behind my sunnies.
Favourite book: Again, so many it’s hard to choose, I read at least one book a week. I found Vox by Christina Dalcher really thought provoking but a particular favourite is Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy.
